From the wiki: “‘Good Times’ was released by Australian group The Easybeats (‘Friday On My Mind’, 1966) as a single in December 1968, with guest vocals by Steve Marriot, and written for them by George Young and Harry Vanda. Legend has it that when first broadcast on BBC radio ‘Good Times’ was reputedly heard by Paul McCartney on his car radio; McCartney apparently rang the station immediately to request a repeat playing.
“In 1986, Hindu Love Gods (Warren Zevon, Peter Buck, Bill Berry, Mike Mills) recorded their version of ‘Good Times’, titled ‘Gonna Have a Good Time Tonight’, as a one-off single.
“In 1987, a cover version by INXS and Jimmy Barnes appeared in the Joel Schumacher film The Lost Boys. This version reached #2 in Australia, as well as obtaining chart positions in both the US and the UK.”
