From the wiki: “‘I’ll Never Love This Way Again’ was composed by Richard Kerr (co-writer ‘Mandy‘, ‘Somewhere in the Night‘) and Will Jennings (co-writer ‘Valerie‘, ‘Tears in Heaven’, ‘Somewhere in the Night‘), and was first recorded by Kerr himself for his 1978 album Welcome To The Club. The song was soon covered by Cheryl Ladd for her 1978 eponymous debut album.
“The song was Dionne Warwick’s first single release on Arista Records after an unsuccessful tenure at Warner Bros. Records, and was produced by Arista labelmate Barry Manilow. ‘I’ll Never Love’ brought Warwick renewed popularity when it reached the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also won Warwick a 1980 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.”
